RICHMOND, VA - The TSC Hurricane 97 girls team , coached by John Michael Waite, defeated Sporting Blue Valley (Kansas City, Mo) 1-0 in the final match to claim the 2013 U16 North American League Championship.  TSCH won all four matches of the ECNL finals event in Richmond, VA held July 10-15, 2013.  During group play TSCH beat Albertson Fury (NY) 2-1, D’Feeters (TX) 3-0, and Strikers FC (CA) 1-0.  It was a total team effort as TSCH had seven different girls scoring the seven goals while the defense posted three shutouts and had only one goal against on a corner kick.
The team had advanced to the finals via the ECNL National Playoff event held June 21-24 in Aurora,CO. In Colorado TSCH won their first match against Soccer Plus Elite (CT) 3-2, suffered an 0-3 loss to Bethesda (MD) and then rebounded to defeat Sockers FC (IL) in the finale.  Due to a weather-induced game reschedule and ensuing travel issues, TSCH had only 10 players and played a man down during the entire Sockers match but prevailed 1-0 to advance the team to the Richmond Finals event.
Despite a tumultuous and somewhat unambitious regular season during which injuries, roster shifts and coaching changes occurred, the resilient TSCH 97s rose to meet the challenges.  Since Coach Waite took the 97 team over in February in their last 18 games the girls collaborated to produce 11 wins, 4 ties and a national title.
This is the first national title for TSC Hurricane and also the first club soccer national title of any kind, boys or girls, for an Oklahoma team.

JUNE 27, 2012 in WAUKEGAN, IL - The TSC Hurricane ECNL 97 Shubert girls rebounded from a 1-0 deficit to defeat Texas Conference rival Dallas Texans 2-1 capturing 7th Place in their fourth and final game at the ECNL National Championship Event. The win followed a pair of 1-3 losses to 13th ranked Crossfire Premier (in quarters) and 1st ranked Gwinnett Soccer Association (for 5th Place consolation), scores of which involved PKs and an own goal and did not depict the competitiveness of play. In round one TSCH 97 had knocked off 5th ranked West Coast FC to advance to the Elite 8.

During this 2011-2012 season of ECNL U15 competition the 97 girls finished third in the Texas Conference by a tiny .03 margin behind second place Dallas Texans (Dallas Sting was 1st). They posted an ECNL record of 18 wins, four ties and six losses, scored 53 goals and suffered 30 against for a +23 goal differential. The defense had 14 shutouts, two of which were for ties to claim points. Finishing 12th place in the ECNL A-Flight league to earn a Nationals top 16 bid and placing 7th at the Championships in their maiden year of the TSC-Hurricane merger and in the ECNL is an outstanding outcome for this talented group. CONGRATULATIONS LADIES!!!
